FRITZ!Box strange LAN devices?
Hello everyone, the following request.
I have a " FRITZ!Box 7530 AX ", and in the " Network " overview, devices appear with names like " PC-4A-6E-F5-66-06-9C ".
If I delete devices, new ones will appear again at some point.
What are they? What triggers them & Can I stop them?
FRITZ!Box data
FRITZ!OS: 8.00
Device: FRITZ!Box 7530 AX
Thanks in advance.
Greetings Mailoo
Here is another picture.
These numbers represent all your devices connected to the network. This creates the Fritzbox from the MAC addresses. You can also assign the devices to rename and icons.
Under WLAN->Safety, you can activate the “Save Wi-Fi access to the known WLAN devices” option and delete the existing devices. Then you can re-register your devices and then give them names you can start with.
That’s what I’d do.
I’ve already named everything, like it’s something like this.
But I’ve changed WLan-PW again and made this with the WLan restriction.
The string, for example PC-4A-6E-F5-66-06-9C in the LAN display of a Fritz!Box or a similar network device is a combination of a device name and MAC address. There seems to be a PC connected.
Change the password from the router (WLAN) and then you will quickly see what no longer works or. who does not have access to it 🙂
I’ve already tried, changed WLan-PW & Interface-PW.
Then I’d put the Wi-Fi on the router first and pull out all LAN connections. After that, delete all registered devices in the router. Then connect one LAN after another and observe which device logs in. Maybe write down. Then turn off all possible WLAN devices – turn on WLAN on the router and see if a device does not know what you log on. If no, reconnect and document a WLAN device after the other. Something complicated but probably the best way to find out what’s going on with you.
As already mentioned by the others, names are generated here from the MAC addresses of the devices.
iPhones have a feature that changes the MAC address with which the device is registered in the network every two weeks. This may cause the network to be “flooded” with such name names.
The function can be displayed on the iPhone in the respective network settings under “Private WLAN Address”.
You don’t happen to have IoT or Smart Home devices used in the network (WLAN)?
All devices that work with the new and modern Matter protocol also appear as network devices in the router.
