freenet email address no longer available?
Hello everyone,
Since this morning, I've been unable to access my email address. I've been using this email address for over 15 years, every day for all sorts of purposes. Whether it's as a "safety address" for various websites/forums, as login information, or for all correspondence, I try to use this email address.
After attempting to log in, the message appears:
Due to suspected misuse of your email account, your login has been blocked for security reasons. Please contact our customer service to have it activated.
I've already contacted customer service. The response I received was:
Dear Mr. XXXX,
Thank you for your inquiry.
We were unable to assign the email address you provided to an active freenet.de mailbox.
Please note that with a free freenet.de mailbox, all emails will be automatically deleted after 180 days of non-use.
If no further login occurs in the meantime, the mailbox will be permanently deleted from our servers after 365 days.
A corresponding email address will be available for new registration from this date.
You can check at https://email.freenet.de/ whether the desired email address is still available.

I’d call you at your place, so you can’t get away with such a prefabricated answer. In some cases, additional information or Legitimations necessary to unlock the address again, this is sometimes bad by mail.
But yes, in principle, this is possible that the mail account is blocked due to misuse, but that then has nothing to do with a disconnection due to non-use. If abuse has actually occurred here, you should check your data anywhere. If you use the password several times, please change it anywhere.
