Frauenarzt oder Frauenärztin ?

I’ve been with a female doctor since my first visit. Especially as a teenager, I felt extremely uncomfortable with a female doctor. Although I also had a male pediatrician, had a male pediatrician and had a male dermatologist, but still the visit to the female physician is really something completely different for me.

In the investigation, I’m already a little tense anyway and feel rather uncomfortable because someone else sees me naked. However, since all this serves a health purpose and doctors often have seen everything possible already, I can usually stand there. In the case of a male female physician, the circumstances would be almost exactly the same, but the emotional part would play too much in my mind. For me, my little self-confidence probably plays the greatest role.

It is definitely different for other women. I’ve been talking to a couple of people who didn’t care about it, and who got great with their male female doctor. The mother of a friend even told me that she prefers male women’s doctors, as they, according to their experience, would handle women more carefully. I don’t know if that’s true.
