Question about the thyroid: TPO-Ak value increased?
Hello, I have a question about the thyroid. Perhaps someone knows something about it.
I have an elevated TPO-AK level of 218.00 (normal range is 0.00-34.00), and a small nodule was also found. I've also had chronic headaches for about eight months. Could this be caused by my thyroid?
I have an appointment with a specialist soon, but maybe someone knows a little bit about it.
Best regards
Martina
Hello,
an increased TPO-AK value indicates the autoimmune disease Hashimoto-thyreoiditis. Whether it is a node that has been found is still there. This should be noted by a thyroid specialist with a very good ultrasound device, because it could also only be thyroid tissue destroyed by the disease.
Information about the antibody values (TPO-AK) can be found here: http://www.hashimotothyreoiditis.de/index.php/antikoerper .
The headaches can definitely come from the thyroid gland. I’m sorry, I know that too well.
I’ll tell you the thumbs that you’ll find a competent specialist, because unfortunately this is not always given in thyroid diseases.

Hello, thank you for your answer. May I ask how your headaches are? (How often and how strong) mine are unfortunately daily for months, it could be excluded a lot, thyroid is still standing out as I said. I hope I will be able to answer my appointment in a month.

Yes, since the thyroid actually controls everything, it is also possible that headaches and migraines are among the symptoms.
Unfortunately, also have a knot in the thyroid – it depends on whether it has changed in size but also whether it is good or evil. Mostly, he’s good. If he grows over the months or years, he must be removed surgically.
The value is already extremely elevated.
Yes. I know a little about it.
Wait for the doctor’s appointment.
