Question about the meaning and origin of this tattoo?
Hi everyone, I'd like to get this tattoo. However, I haven't been able to find anything about the symbolism. Does anyone know the origin of this symbol? Or what its meaning is? Or whether it comes from a specific culture, and if so, which one? Thanks in advance! I think the motif is absolutely beautiful, but I don't want to just get it tattooed without some background information.
I’m very brave now and interpret this picture as follows:
Here we see two figures standing opposite each other or rather hockening. The right figure has two horns on the head. From this, I interpret this figure as the Egyptian goddess ANAT.
The left figure I would interpret as her brother Ba’al
or:
According to Ugarit’s traditions, Ba’al was killed by Mot (the God of the Underworld), whereupon Anat practiced cruel revenge on Mot by cutting him and distributing these pieces worldwide.
The tattoo could now represent the great love between Anat and Ba’ar – or the merciless struggle between Anat and Mot.
This is MY! very daring interpretation of the tattoo – just based on the two horns of the right figure!
Two women who help with the bear?
Can you add some background information (possibly further links)? DANKE!
Unfortunately not better than you, I’d have to google. I just came because the bear in the stool was practiced a lot earlier. On the other hand, at second glance, both women are not pregnant. I once asked chatgpt:
The tattoo shows two women who face each other in the cock seat, which could symbolize a close connection or mutual support. This representation could have interpretations such as solidarity, female community, equilibrium or spiritual unity. Such motives are often the expression of solidarity with other people or a deeper understanding of community and cohesion.
It could also have cultural or personal meaning, for example a ritual, a meditative attitude or a symbol of intimate conversations and the exchange of energy. Do you know if the tattoo has a special meaning for the person?
And the ring is not without… chatgpt:
The ring has a striking organic design with a mandular or leaf-like outline. In the middle, small balls or beads appear to be embedded, which are held by a smooth border. The design recalls natural motifs and could symbolically stand for growth, fertility, protection or connection with nature.
The mandular element is often associated with the “eye” or a protective symbol, similar to the Nazar emullet, which is intended to protect against evil vision. At the same time, it could be an abstract relation to plants or leaves, which stands for naturalness and life. It also has an ethnic or handmade aesthetic that could indicate traditional craftsmanship.
Do you know the background of the ring? It could have both cultural and personal significance.
Then follow the answer – with best regards 😉
Questions about background and people were from ChatGPT, not from me … 🙂
Thanks for playing your knowledge/conceptions!
I do not know the person(s) or the person depicted. I spontaneously associated the two horns of the depicted tattoo figure with ANAT, and derived the rest of my interpretation from it.
The ring doesn’t tell me! I have no association at all!
