Question about spelling?

I have trouble spelling two words.

First question:

Why is the word "light grey jacket" spelled "light grey" together?

The following answers are possible:

1: It is an unchanging word. 2: It is a nominalization of verb combinations. 3: It is a combination of adjectives and verbs that creates a new meaning.

Next question:

Is the word "stehengelassen" written together or separately in the sentence: I left my dishes standing?

If it is written together, the answer options from the previous question apply and if it is written separately, the following answer options apply:

1: Noun and verb 2: Verb and verb 3: Adjective and verb 4: Combination with "sein"

light gray is a specific color and is written together as well as light green, light red, light blue, it belongs directly to the word. I would be allowed to stand with dishes, so you can say that I left the dishes. It’s just another form of time.
