Photos/images from the internet for Wattpad and other covers?

Hey,

Are you allowed to use images and photos from the internet for, for example, Wattpad or Bellestrica covers?
I've seen this happen several times with book titles on these platforms. Is this allowed, since they're not "real" books?

Greetings from Fliederfeder :))

Whether it’s “real books” is completely irrelevant. If you (outside the purely private use) use an image that does not belong to you without the permission of the author (licensor) and does not provide any legal benefit, you will make yourself criminal. In addition, the author can of course also dismiss you, complain for omission or damages.

Platforms such as Wattpad are very popular with Abmahnkanzleien, copyrights (both pictures, fonts and texts) are very often violated there, as are countless misuses of trademarked names (Warrior Cats, Harry Potter, etc.).

That’s why you don’t just get your pictures from “the Internet” but from such pages as Pixabay. The images are released there for such purposes. Everyone can use it. You can also download pictures from Wikimedia. You have to pay attention to the license. Some are free, others only under certain conditions. If you get your images from an AI, such as NightCafe or Playground, then the images are completely free as long as you have generated them yourself. You don’t have to “klauen” pictures.

No, even pictures of Pixabay mustn’t all just use how he’s funny. The pictures on this page are also subject to a license that you have to comply with.

No, it’s not because you don’t have the right for the pictures.

Hello feather!

If you simply take a picture of Google or the like, it can be very good that the image is protected and you can’t use it, so don’t take it!

I personally use Picsabay, there you can download royalty-free pictures and it’s actually a lot free.

I hope I’ve been a bit helpful to you!

That can’t be “very good”, that’s it. Once a work reaches the height of creation, it is also protected by copyright.

you can download royalty-free images

The pictures are not license-free, they would be completely protected and the use punishable. Pixabay grants you a so-called Pixabay License for use; you can’t just do what you want with the pictures, you can do them. not selling, stuck in frames, etc.

You can simply let the images be generated by an AI, e.g. Bing and etc.

I hope I could help,

Please read the terms of use of the respective AI. I strongly dare to doubt that you are allowed to use purpose production of images for dissemination – otherwise you would not have to ask for money for a pro version.
