Fossilized tooth, does anyone know anything about this?
We found a fossilized tooth like this by the sea in Portugal. Google didn't really help us. But we assume it came from a prehistoric horse or something. Does anyone know what kind it is?
Hope you can see everything in the pictures 🙂
It seems to be very old as there were already shells on it
And what's that white stuff?? Bird poop?😂🤔
Mammut teeth are wider and differently patterned. You can see both below in this link:

The tooth looks like a horse. Below the following links there are examples of teeth from the Pleistocene, eifnach click on the picture:

Thanks!🥰 Finally someone who answers…
I’d like to. I am very happy to help you here.
And thanks for the *Sternchen 🙂
It’s not a horse tooth, it’s a big ruminant, probably a cow. More precisely, it is the crown of a rear jaw tooth (molar) from the upper jaw.
I don’t think the tooth is very old. The brown color comes through storage in the water, the white deposits are either lime or (as you write yourself) adhering shell residues. Are you sure the tooth is already stoned? From the photos, he still looks perfectly normal for me (apart from the color that, as I said, was caused by the humid environment).
Horse teeth are shaped differently.
