Forgot the pill, what to do now?
Hello,
I've been taking the Maxim pill since the beginning of this year. Unfortunately, I took the last pill in the pack on Saturday and only realized today, Tuesday, that I'd skipped Sunday and Monday.
Unfortunately, I also had unprotected sex with my boyfriend today. (Please don't judge me; I know myself that this wasn't a smart move on our part, or rather on my part. :-/)
Unfortunately, since I wasn't at all sure what to do, I panicked and took one of the pills that had been left over from other months.
As if that wasn't a problem enough, I'm currently waiting for a letter from my health insurance provider, as I'm currently uninsured due to a job change. (I only found out about this today from a medical assistant at my gynecologist.)
Unfortunately, I'm obviously in a deep jam now and don't know what to do. I would be incredibly grateful if someone would be willing to give me some advice.
LG
Hello
In case of a mistake in the third take-off week: either take the max and start with the next blister without a break, or immediately take 7 days (no longer) break (the day of the forgotten pill must then be counted as the first break day) and then start with the next blister. In both cases, protection is preserved. The pill after that is unnecessary in this case.
In case of an error, it is important to read in the package immediately how to react to the error.
A very good advice from , community expert for pills
“Get this place on the edge so you can find it quickly if you need it!”
To avoid forgetting the pill, you can save the memory into your phone. You can also place the pack next to the coffee machine, next to the coffee cups or next to the toothbrush.
Our many years of experience have shown that it is safer to take the pill in the morning. You usually stand up at the same time and when you get up on the weekend, the time difference doesn't matter because you can take the max up to 12 hours without losing the protection. Besides, you have time to take a forgotten pill every day. In the evening, you're more on the go, and you'll see the time.

Please take a look at the package leaflet of your pill – there's everything in it.
If you forget a pill in the third week, it is not a drama and easy to correct without loss of protection.
Either you don't take the forgotten pill and take it right away. You count the day of the forgotten pill as the first day of the break and start with the next blister (maximum 7 days without taking).
Or you leave the break and start the next blister.
Happy for you!
Thank you for your answer!
I had actually looked in today, but I missed that with the break of revenue :') this is my mistake!
Thanks again for your help!
Since you're talking about health insurance, you don't have a new blister anymore?
Anyone who gives up a job and takes up the next one only after a short break is still insured for a month in the statutory health insurance fund without having to pay contributions (subsequent claim).
Or have you been out of work for a long time and have forgotten to report you to work or to assure you voluntarily?
Pill after that or another emergency prevention. Pronto! If pregnancy is not an option at the moment.
Thank you for your answer!
I'll go to the pharmacy tomorrow and get the pill for it. But now one more question, because I take the pill regularly, I can't very well guess whether I already had my ovulation or not, because the pill after that is only effective if I haven't had the ovulation yet.
Is there any method to determine the whole thing? Ovulation testing should not be so trustworthy in such cases.
Sorry, but you usually don't have ovulation. That's why you take the pill.
If so, when it gets triggered, no one can tell you. Only so much – I personally would be on the way to the pharmacy at the latest. Not until tomorrow. Because – as you say – immediately before or during the ovulation, the pill cannot work after that.
And with the pill, you can't work out a "confidence advantage" or something. A mistake at the wrong time can have the same effect after a month or after 10 years of taking.
Wrong!
Nope
then it fits
Sorry! This info only came after my answer. I understood the question in such a way that she took Saturday quote "the last pill of the pack" (aka of the blister), then took the break and then forgot to start again (just wondered why she had written Sunday and Monday, because at a break she had to start again on Monday).
My answer is therefore not basically wrong (this comment was much too flat-rate) – but only due to the misunderstanding that he referred to an error of acceptance within the first week of adoption. But the actual situation isebise50 has already replied reliably well and correctly, as you know from her :-).
But she was in week 3 and therefore needs if she does not follow the information in the BPZ after it!
