I drive a Ford Escort Mk7 from 1996 and wanted to get some alloys for the summer and then I had the idea to put the rims from a Scorpio on them. The size would actually fit, 225/55 r16 are on them right now, can I just put 205/45 r16 on them or is that not possible

Your current 225/45R16 are not even approved on the RS/ RS Cosworth of the Escort MK VII, for all weaker motorized, but only 15″!
And the Scorpio was never delivered in Europe original on 16″ with 205/45 tires!
