Ford KA for a novice driver?

Hi everyone, I'm 27 years old and passed my driving test yesterday, and now I need to find a good, affordable car that's preferably not too big. Personally, I quite like the Ford KA, but unfortunately, apart from my aunt, who had a rather negative experience, I haven't had a chance to gather any opinions, so I wanted to ask here.

And which do you think is better, petrol or diesel? And while I'm at it…what would you say is important when I go out and look at cars? I already have a checklist from the internet and one with questions to ask beforehand. Do you think that's enough?

thanks for reading and meaningful answers

Look at your budget…

Then, rather little Daihatsu, there’s not much to do, it doesn’t need much fuel, spare parts don’t cost the world and you’ll also get a TÜV for 1200,-€.

A lot more will not be inside. But: I had 3 Daihatsu myself, to start the loose. Were all very reliable 🙂

a ford ka may look funny, but please leave it. Look for vw lupo, polo, or opel corsa, smaller japaner etc. maybe astra…. also older, larger cars can be sprit-saving. if you don’t drive several hundred km every day get a benziner.

And you’re beautifully disguised when you’re involved with the part in an accident.

A KA is a bad beginner car, sometimes with only 1,200,- Euro. The workshop visits will tear a big hole in your wallet.

I would recommend a Toyota Aygo, Starlet or Toyota Yaris. Don’t expect miracles in the price range. You’re gonna have to do smacks.

In any case, gasoline. Get away from the old Ka, it’s a qualitative catastrophe.

Hello!

Congratulations for driving license..

For 1200 euros, I would not buy a Ford-Ka, and in general no small car.. The old Ka (1996 to 2008) was only available as a gasoline & especially the smaller one with 50 hp is quite solid, but also an untimely gasoline destroyer for this class, whose consumption was little tingling in 1996. The considerable rust problems ——-> it already has a reason why even comparatively young Ford-Ka from the 2000s are offered for low prices.

I would rather buy a compact car that is cared for by the reindeer or seemingly boring middle-class car with smaller gasoline —–> something like that in the direction of Audi 80, Ford (Escort, old Mondeo) or Opel (Astra-F, Vectra-A or Vectra-B) or Citroen (Xsara, Xantia). You definitely have more pleasure! Here’s something to the Mondeo from one of my favorite pages…!

By the way, even had a 1993 stepped mooneo (owner born in 1910 and 1923!), who was a great product for 800 Euronen and accompanied me reliably and faithfully for more than two years 🙂

Hope I could help you:)

I’m a car salesman. What’s your budget? If it’s something small, relatively new, then definitely the Toyota Aygo. Standard with air conditioning and rear camera and it starts from 9.950,-. The current model of 2015 of course.

Then definitely NO old Ford Ka, you won’t be happy.

From the KA you really hear nix good…

Look for a small Opel or a medium. You’re supposed to put something down, right? I have an Astra myself, my best car so far.

Diesel is only worth at a very high Km performance.

A checklist is okay. Better is someone who accompanies you and knows cars! Especially important when buying private gaaaanz!

Also important: No backyard company, no more than 1000s and no trouble!

On the budget, I’m guessing a Fiat Panda. (I have myself as a starter.) He didn’t run until he left. It was ancient, and not very fast, but completely sufficient for the beginning.

Ford Ka: Get away! Rust, rust, rust….
