Flower pots: Where to drill holes?

Hello everyone,

I have the following flower pots, but I'm unsure where exactly I should drill the holes for the drainage in the insert/inner pot: https://www.amazon.de/Deuba-Blumentopf-Anthrazit-Au%C3%9Fenbereich-Handgriffen/dp/B07GZPJZX8/

As I understand it, you're supposed to drill into the four raised holes at the top (see photo). This would place the drain above the ground, meaning water would remain at a height of 2.5 cm. I'll, of course, add a drainage layer.

Question: Is this correct or suboptimal?

Make holes in the elevations and enter bubbles at the bottom. I've been doing this for years, and my plants look magnificent.

I just make blown in without tile/glitter, about 5 cm over the holes.
