Is EW Discover currently flying for Lufthansa?
Hello everyone,
Today I looked at flight LH444. I heard the flight by chance over the radio and decided to look it up. According to FR24, it was operated by Eurowings Discover with a Lufthansa flight number and call sign. They also reported on the radio as Lufthansa 444. Is Eurowings Discover currently flying for Lufthansa?
Yes, however, I spontaneously think of LH4269 (Vancouver – Frankfurt). Eurowings is a Lufthansa subsidiary and flies regularly for Lufthansa flights, within Europe’s rarer (then as Eurowings) and outside Europe (though more often) then as Eurowings Discover. But yes, that’s normal.
If you get a Eurowings flight then at Lufthansa price or does it cost less?
No, the same price, however, when booking, the flight is not carried out by Lufthansa but only has Lufthansa’s flight number and is then carried out, for example, by Eurowings Discover. This construct is called code-share flights.
What I know now is the Eurowings Discovery also flying with a call sign DLH, but this is only allowed to Eurowings (because of the subsidiary) or even, for example, United I don’t know.
Code sharing I already know the flight was shown as a flight with LH number and DLH call sign. It can’t be a code sharing anymore, can it?
