Flying with Sunexpress?

My last flight was with Sunexpress. The flight lasted 3.5 hours and my plane took off at 7 p.m. At around 8 p.m. the captain went to the bathroom and stayed there for about an hour. I had to wait the whole time until I was allowed to go. When he came out he looked very tired. I wanted to talk to him but he looked at me and didn't answer; apart from a nod I got no response. I'm interested in airplanes and this job, so I wanted to talk. Suddenly the flight attendant came and sent me away for a few minutes. I had to wait behind a curtain where the cabin was. Only then was I allowed to go to the bathroom. The bathroom was behind the cockpit. The flight attendant explained to me that our pilot isn't allowed to talk to passengers because he would get confused. She also said that he was tired and that's why it took him almost an hour. The plane had been flying for 10 hours with several stopovers. The pilot looked extremely tired to me. And the plane was the Eintracht Frankfurt plane, a Boeing 737.

Are such flights risky or is it common practice in the aviation industry?

I personally can't understand why something like this should happen, where the pilot is probably asleep in the toilet and is completely tired.

what do you think about this?

Thank you in advance for your kind answers.

Best regards,

Geschichten aus’m Paulanergarten…
