Yeah, but only if you have a flex price ticket. Then there should be “ICE ticket” somewhere up there. As soon as you buy a Flexpreis ticket, where there is an ICE, you have an ICE ticket with which you can also drive the entire route with ICEs, if this is possible.

See also in the terms of transport:

3.2.1. The flex price is the fee fixed for a specific connection depending on the selected product and car class, for flex prices of the product class ICE/IC/EC, also depending on the travel day. The fee for flex prices of product class C is calculated from the respective price list. If trains of different product classes are used for sub-ranges of a connection, the flex price is calculated for the overall distance
by the highest product class.

Anyone who wants to pay less must explicitly buy a ticket without ICE. However, if you have a savings price ticket, you have to drive exactly with the trains on the ticket.

As the IC and ICE are a different price class, you pay. If all the trains were an ICE and the route otherwise the same, it wouldn’t matter. For a flex price unwinds from a train and you can take any train on the day of validity that drives this way.

You paid for an IC/EC trip to Mannheim and for an ICE trip to Stuttgart. You can drive Ergo with all trains in the valid price class.
