Flashes of light after internal bleeding in the eye?

Hello!

A few weeks ago I had an internal bleeding in my eye due to a sports accident. Everything was treated and I had to take eye drops for a while, but not anymore.

For a while, my eye seemed to be recovering, but now for about five days, I've been seeing flashes of light every now and then (sometimes only when I close my eye). It seems to me that these only occur when I make a certain movement. I also see floaters ("worms" in my field of vision; I had them as a small child, too).

Since my ophthalmologist is currently on vacation and I am having a hard time getting an appointment with another ophthalmologist, I wanted to ask if the flashes of light are related to some kind of wound in my eye or if there could be other reasons?
Thanks for your answers 🙂

Hello,

Please go to an eye clinic, but immediately. It can be retinal detachment.

I don't want to scare you, but light flashes can be symptoms of retinal detachment, which would be an ophthalmic emergency.

I would now call the 116117 and let myself be advised if the trip to an eye clinic is needed emergency.

Otherwise, tomorrow morning at eight at the next best ophthalmologist.
