Procedure:

  • place a straight line equation f(x) for the hypotenuse of the triangle on
  • set up a surface function for the rectangle with the secondary condition y=f(x), i.e.
  • Determination with A'(x)=0 the maximum of this function

Sketch:

PS: If you have not yet made a differential calculation, it is also sufficient to calculate the vertex of the parabola A(x).

Because a corner of the cut-out rectangle must lie on the hypotenuse. That’s exactly what I’ve got This point and no other in the sketch, because this point must fulfill P(x; f(x)). Otherwise, the lengths of the cats with 10 cm and 12 cm are specified in the task.

I mean, you’re turning this on, but that’s how you solve the task notbut calculates the double surface of the given triangle. That’s it. not in demand, but you should be from the rectangular triangle with the cats 10 cm and 12 cm maximum size cut.

You should answer really view, this is also in there (in the sketch and so you can see it immediately, which it belongs to, also in green colour).
