Fischer projection of carbon chains?
To rationalize, so that the rule that points vertically backwards and horizontally forwards into the plane is maintained, one can apparently imagine the chain curved like this, but then I see 1 problem:
If the chain is long enough, the substituents of the outermost carbon atoms eventually stop pointing upward… or is each carbon atom continually "recentered" and viewed from above as a new starting point? Or is this rationalized C-shaped curvature then flattened? I hope this is understandable; I can't find much about it online. Perhaps someone can give me a link where this is discussed?

ja, bei der Betrachtung eines bestimmten C-Atoms wird dieses immer wieder „zentriert” und als neuer Ausgangspunkt in Aufsicht betrachtet…
