Firefox Sicherheitslücke Linux Mint 22?

Hi,

Linux Mint gets the Firefox package directly from Mozilla. So it is not understandable for me why you should be at 132. Are you sure you didn’t miss an update? Check this manually for emergency!

Otherwise you can just Firefox Flake install. This is also supervised by Mozilla and is up to date. But also here you have to take care of updates.

Then LM will more and more justice to my image of its uncertainty 😰 You have to keep true today: LTS versions are no longer in order.

Well, if you had another distro (Debian, MX-Linux,…), you’d be at 133.

… and in January already 134.

Debian should be up to date? Okay, the Firefox even comes relatively fast, for that the rest of the system is uncertain.

Example: Qt hangs for example at 6.4.2, although 1. 6.4.3 is already out long ago and 2. which is not an LTS version, so no updates are received.

So if you replace Linux Mint with Debian you’re driving the devil with the Belzebub. This is no improvement! Actively maintained distributions are, for example, Solus, Fedora, openSUSE Tumbleweed.

It will be patched as soon as it packed Ubuntu into their LTS version + a few days

And I’ve never heard of such an exploit

This only works in combination with the Windows exploit

Ubuntu only releases the Firefox snap version and it doesn’t get LM (luckily). They have a deal with Mozilla directly:
