Burned finger, what should I do?

Hello, on Tuesday I burned the fingers of my right hand with boiling hot water. It hurt a lot on Tuesday but because it got better in the evening and I was able to sleep, I didn't go to the doctor. On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday it got a little better each day, but today, four days after the incident, my fingers hurt when I move them.

So, they don't hurt all the time, and they're not that bad, either, but I feel like they're kind of stiff. I can still grip and bend them, but not as well. Now I'm wondering what's causing this? Is the skin regenerating, or are the nerves regenerating?

My hope is that it will get better on its own over the next few days. I don't mind scars; they're a part of life, but long-term damage to my fingers wouldn't be so nice. Can I expect it to get better on its own over the next few days, or is that out of the question?

Well, you’ve got a wound on your finger that heals now. The uppermost skin layer is dead and hardens now until it dissolves. Of course, that feels different, that would not be different now with a must-wonder.

As long as you haven’t kept your fingers in the boiling water for minutes, no.

40 years ago, when there was no internet, people died of such accidents.

Yes, the days are probably better. Just wait a few more days if it doesn’t get better going to the doctor.
Good improvement
