I have never been in Switzerland, Germany has the more diverse, larger landscape, but Switzerland has almost as many famous, beautiful holiday resorts.

I’ve never been there, so I can’t report. In Germany, only the Rhineland and the surrounding area.

I have lived both in the German flatland (also on the Baltic Sea) and in the German mountain country. I find mountains terrible, even because of the constant going up and down. It would be worse for me in Switzerland. From the climate. In Bavaria I found it expressive, on the Baltic Sea I worked with wind and weather in the garbage collection (back on).

So my answer is: North Germany

I’m just referring to myself. I grew up in the Hessian Mountains, but I feel most comfortable in the North German plains

The worst thing I find in Hesse is the Ostheimer Senke between Melsungen and Guxhagen, where I had to go through with snow blowers (then I prefer to stand at the Baltic Sea in this weather behind the garbage truck = seriously meant).

And in the southern corner of Lower Saxony (just as a greeting: “equal in Hesse”) the Kassel mountains with an 8% gradient, where there are also elephant races on three tracks. I’ve been up there many years ago with a Seat Marbella (37 PS) – right track of course – and I almost had taken a truck on the horns from behind…

As a Swiss I am a patriot on this question.

I am very often in Germany and know the country very well. I also find Germany as a very diverse and beautiful country. I’m happy to be in the north too, I like the flat country as a contrast to our mountains.

That’s it. In Switzerland I feel very comfortable and I don’t see a reason to move in my elder.

I like Switzerland better. The reasons:

  • Relatively small country: One is in very short time in very different regions (flatland, mountains etc.)
  • Very good connections (and mostly on time) in the ÖV area
  • Good school system
  • Very appropriate form of democracy, which allows me to choose themed specifically and not party-specific (which is very important to me!)
  • Diversity in a small space: something German flair, something Italian and something French. In addition, in cantons such as Zurich or Basel a melting tile from all countries of the world – and it works wonderfully!
  • Very well-developed social benefit system
  • Not a member of the EU and NATO (both I consider to be an advantage – especially with regard to the EU)
  • Despite expensive cost of living more money at the end of the month than elsewhere

That’s why DE’s not “bad”. But if I had the choice, I would choose Switzerland for these reasons.

I don’t know Switzerland well enough to judge it.

Switzerland has a lot of fans, certainly right! The landscape is beautiful and diverse.

My few trips to Switzerland are very long back, I was in my twenties. Switzerland always seemed very expensive to me, as a student I didn’t have much money. I also sometimes had difficulty understanding some dialects, but that is different regionally.

I know Austria much better. I could judge if I could imagine a life there.

Germany is my home country and there is currently no reason to leave it.

Switzerland I would say that De also has beautiful corners but above all in the cleanliness and modernity Ch has the nose in front. I mean certain towns in De is quite siffy and with it many careless, garbage and strange people.

I could never understand that you find Germany beautiful. Apart from the Alps, the landscape is extremely boring, as it is characterized by the middle mountains and flatland. Switzerland is a paradise.

Then drive from Munich to Berlin on the highway. There’s nothing I remember because it’s so boring.

Germany is at least more versatile.
