File type is not supported (Windows 10 Mail), what to do?
Hello,
I received my rental agreement by email yesterday. Unfortunately, it says "File type is not supported." These include .pdf and .docx files.
Maybe someone has an idea what the problem could be…
Thank you in advance 🙂
pdf is supported by default and displayed in the Edge browser if not easy to install Adobe Reader, but then directly by Adobe
docx is ne Word file, so it’s best to load LibreOffice down, that can handle them
However, Windows should also be able to display the file at least here and then print it out
Maybe I should have said in the question, but have a full version of office and .pdf files actually open normally over edge. e. B at old emails I can normally open the .pdf file.
It just doesn’t work with this one email… but I really don’t know why..
Because it can happen that such files can already be corrupt.
If it should be just a single file from an email, it’s up to the file itself.
Then check if the links are still correct
Windows 10: Change standard programs – for any file type – PC Magazin (pc-magazin.de)
before was the email in junk mail ordner, maybe that’s the reason?
if she’s out there, then no longer
But restart the mail program. Maybe that came to the slingshot
For PDF take the original (Adobe Acrobat Reader) and for Docx like Ghostdragon666 already said one of the Free Openoffice / Libreoffice program.
Either no PDF reader (Adobe Acrobat Reader or any third-party vendor solution) is installed or the file extension is not linked to the installed PDF reader on your system.
At Docx, a half-way current word from the MS Office package is required. LibreOffice should also be able to open this, only the formattings do not have to be properly taken over. Here too, it can be due to a missing link when a suitable program is installed.
Get a free office program, like Open Office etc.
Then you can open the files.
That’s it. Got ne full version of Office. What’s funny is that. B old emails with .pdf files are open …
What Office version do you have?
In older ones there are add-ons that can open the new endings docx etc.
