File that should send the location and a photo when opened?

I once saw a video like this in which someone was contacted by a scammer via WhatsApp. The scammer pretended to be a son/daughter and demanded money. The person in the video then sent him a file with alleged bank details. Of course, these weren't bank details, but a file that, when opened, sent the scammer's location and a photo via the phone's camera.

I'd like to know how something like this works. Are there any pre-written scripts for such specific purposes?
