Hard drive is only displayed to device managers?

That’s it. That’s it. That’s normal. Doesn’t say much – except that drivers are there for the device.

not in Explorer or Disk Management.

No hard drives are displayed in the Explorer. That’s normal.

If the hard drive is NOT displayed in the disk management, there is indeed a problem: either the device is defective, the cable with which the device is connected, or USB port/chip of the computer.

Either the USB port of the external hard drive is defective (Windows cannot fully communicate with it), or the hard drive is not initialized/partitioned, or the hard drive itself is defective.

See if it appears there and whether it is assigned an active primary partition (if not, repeat) or a drive letter (you can also do it there).

You could also expand the hard drive from the housing and connect directly to your PC. There are usually standard HDD/SSD installed in it with standard SATA ports.
