It turns up and the head tries to read the firmware from the plates. For a headache, time is too short for me – because the HDD would need longer for reading.

So I guess that either can’t control the head at all – defect of the board, bad contact with the board, etc.

Or that the head hangs and doesn’t get free.

If the data is important, it would be a case for a professional. This should cost around EUR 300-500.

If there are “nice to have” data, I can give you a few tips to make.

What is this HDD?

What’s the connection?

Screw the board back – and photograph the underside of the board with the components and contacts. Is there something burned? Crushed?

An old (external) hard drive with USB 3.x ?
If so, maybe connected to USB 2.x?

As an external or internal?
Schaumal at Ebay or Amazon – should be found there.

Get me one at the country of sale, an Intenso 1 Tb.
It’s been doing good services for months.

I know the sound – is definitely broken.
Normally, you wouldn’t hear anything.

Is ne docking station for SATA panels.
As I see, the record has a damage.
It could also be due to a lack of power supply, which might bring too little power – you could check when installing the hard drive into a PC.
If you shake the plate, it’ll scratch it?

On my PC a USB port is broken, so the external hard drive starts and stops. Maybe it’s a similar problem in your case.

Yes, of course I use another USB port now – after I found it. And the external hard drive works perfectly.
