Cutting time figs is in the early spring when no strict frogs are to be expected. You don’t know how far the shoots are frozen.

I would recommend winter protection with straw bales, even if our winters are always milder

all that grows up right now.

My dad cuts his fig at least twice a year.

Partly also quite radical.

We have a lot more figs every year than we can eat (we give them kilo wise…)

You can take it out in the early spring so that it branches better.

Cut branches can be used for new fig trees.

There’s nothing cut off with a little little girl like that. Just cap the tip so that next year side drives are created.
