Young hedgehogs can be too dependent on humans, adult animals should not actually learn how to do it, but be careful with the natural cycle of hedgehogs.

Otherwise, you can raise the cat food and offer it only occasionally.

I think they can instinctively if there is enough food. But they learn from the mother to go to the full plate. The then well-balanced suitable feed contains – but certainly not enough for all the hedgehogs that may run around. I mean, they're looking for it.

Feeding wild animals with inappropriate feed can end fatal, so starving young birds with full crotch, because the parents give them oat flakes or grains from laziness, but they need insects.

Yeah, okay, THAT you can't prevent anyway (Of course you like cat food. And crows….). But then they look for the food place and eat something else. Cat food is also not unhealthy for hedgehogs.
