Socialize fancy mice after 2 years?
Hello Hello
A brief history from the beginning: About two years ago, I got five female fancy mice. I actually only wanted four, as I'd read that it's best to keep an even number of fancy mice so that when they split into pairs, no one mouse is left alone. However, they were a litter of five females, and if I had only taken four, one would have been left over. It was never a problem keeping five of them.
At the end of last year my pet mouse Zuri unfortunately died and now today my pet mouse Idis has unfortunately passed away.
Now I have three female fancy mice. I don't know if I'm right, but it seems to me that a group of two has formed, and one tends to be alone. However, I haven't been able to observe them long or closely enough to confirm this (so it's just a guess).
My question is, could and should I still socialize the little ones after more than two years? (So that they would be an even number of mice again). Does this make sense after this time and given that they've been together since birth, and would it even work?
Unfortunately, I would then have to give it away because I don't have the capacity for a new colored mouse at the moment.
Thanks for your answers!
