Fantasy book idea too cliché?
I'm working on a new book project and I'm a little worried that the idea is too cliché…
It's about the fact that the heir to the throne has been stolen by her sister, and she just wants it back. Is that somehow understandable?
Thanks in advance!
I agree with BeviBaby: The basic idea you’re writing there is nothing new, but it never really is. If someone manages to find something unprecedented, hat off.
At the end, the exact design of your idea decides whether it comes to a “new” and exciting or not. If it calms you down. In my bookcase there are two book series that can be described by the fact that there is a school for magically gifted children and the main person must fight against evil. If we see Camp Half-Blood as a school, there are even three. In detail, however, they all don’t have much in common.
It often happens in books, but every book is still different although the basic idea is the same.
I’ve read many books with this basic idea and found them exciting again and again.
Clever? Not necessarily. Your characters should be stereotypes.
Original? Neither.
Well, this idea in itself is nothing new now. But that’s just the basic stock first. You can make something more individual and innovative from the whole thing.
The basic aspects that people motivate themselves to a long journey or to plunge into an adventure are usually similar or they originate at least from a very small pool. You make it more individual by designing this journey 🙂
In any case, I wish you a great deal of success with this:)
Hello, but this is blunt wood. Okay. I’ll help you, I’ll give you an idea. The throne is not given to her because she tries to breed human animal hybrids.
