Is the factor 4.88 justified when preparing a cavity?
Hello, my dentist recently repaired a few carious cavities. Now my dental insurance won't cover the factor stated on the bill. A factor of 4.88 is listed for almost all cavities. I don't have any bad teeth, and the caries was actually very moderate. Is my dentist's factor justified?
An excerpt from the invoice:
Cavity preparation and restoration with composite materials, using the adhesive technique, two-surface, including multi-layer technique if necessary, including polishing, and if necessary, including the use of inserts. Reason: Considerable time expenditure due to the particularly difficult filling design in the contact area with the adjacent tooth. Above-average difficulty and time expenditure due to the poorly located, difficult-to-reach cavity. FACTOR 4.84
Over 3.5 is only possible with a fee agreement. So you would have to have specifically signed that you agree with it and pay the difference yourself. You got that?
Unfortunately, I signed it. Actually, NIE had problems with the teeth up to the last events. Did not know that there are such factors in the calculation. The money will probably be gone. However, if my dentist acted illegally, I would try to lead what is in the way or warn other customers.
As I have also read, factors above 3.5 are only justified for caries under the gum etc. In all places, only in the first tooth layer, were carious
This is where only freedom of contract is concerned. If both of them are to be paid, then that’s okay.
No, he’s completely inappropriate!
All right. I would only be interested if this factor is common?
