Buy a new vehicle for €27,800 or for €26,000 as a one-year-old car with 5,000 km on the clock?

This is about the Hyundai i20 N. I'm generally in favor of buying a used car because of the money you save. But in this case, because the price difference isn't that high, I'd definitely go for a new car 10 times over. The car is for my girlfriend, and she's the one who ultimately decides. She'd prefer the used one because of the difference in price. I don't really understand. What do you think?
