Extreme itching in dogs. What could be the cause and how can I help?

Good evening,

I have a 3 year old mixed breed dog. We adopted her from a foster home when she was 7 months old. About half a year later she started scratching herself repeatedly, not badly, just more often than normal. It got worse and worse and we went to the vet several times. He did various tests and gave us something for mites, fleas, etc. She did these immediately, but unfortunately it didn't get better. It just kept getting worse. We then thought it could be a food allergy and only gave her certain treats from the vet and started raw food. But that didn't really make things better. So we went back to the vet and did tests, suspected fox tapeworm, but again it wasn't it. Now I have a question for all of you, whether you're a vet, an experienced person, or whoever, what could this be? And how can I help? Do you know of a remedy that would help? Or any tips.

Good evening,

Feed intolerance is really such a thing as long as it is long and there is a lot of patience in demand.

It is said that the body of an animal in feed intolerance needs up to 6 months with hypoallergenic feed in order to calm down, especially in the case of such a worse leakage leopecia (Leakalopeia dog).

Kortison is a means of choice to become the immense itching Lord and a consistent feed conversion to only 1 meat variety without any additions and no treats etc.

Most of the time, the challenge lies with the holder rather than with the animal to keep it through.

So hypoallergenic meat types are:

  • Horse
  • kangaroo
  • buffalo
  • Ostrich.

To minimize itching externally, I like to use alphazoo fire extinguisher anti itching spray.

Otherwise, I’ll join.

Best regards from DaLi♀️ ♀️, Leo😺 and Mishu😺

I live with two feeds of intolerant cats and the one looked like your dog. I took many months to calm down.

Is the dog also more restless, poorly launted and irritable?

You could try if you had him Sedarom dog more balanced. With my cats it really helps great.

Let’s do a blood allergy test. Maybe the dog has a dust mite allergy?.

That was the problem with my first dog, whose riddle was then solved with the blood allergy test.

He had an allergy to grass pollen and to house dust mites.

Go to a “right” animal clinic. The “forest and meadow” clinics and veterinarians also have limited possibilities. If they are exhausted, you should visit a Vet Uni clinic. For example, the LMU in Munich, which is in Hanover, Berlin or Gießen. In Austria, for example, in Vienna. In Switzerland Zurich or Bern.

There are also corresponding dermatologists, which may also be easier to diagnose.

Good luck 🍀

Go to a dermatologist for animals. It looks really bad. Just googles where you’re near. In Bavaria, for example, it is Munich.

This looks like demodexiose go with the dog into an animal clinic there is taken a skin scrap and this is then examined in the laboratory for mushrooms and parasites sitting under the skin and eating there …
