Extreme sweating due to sertraline?

Good day,

I've often heard that sweating is a common side effect of sertraline. I've been taking sertraline for about nine months, and ever since I started taking it, I've been sweating profusely. But I thought the side effects were only present at the beginning.

So could these still be side effects or something else?

It's a side effect.

It is true that most side effects of antidepressants occur mainly at the beginning of the treatment and disappear after a few weeks. There are exceptions, however. Very common exceptions are:

  • Sexual dysfunction
  • Weight changes
  • Sweating

…if they are affected. Reinforced sweating is a problem with almost all antidepressants. I'm sorry, I know that more than well.
