Externe Festplatte?
Hallo,
mich habe mir zum ersten Mal eine externe Festplatte für meinen Rechner (MacBook) geholt, da ich kein Backup auf diesen erstellen kann, weil mein Handy (iPhone) angibt, dass nicht genug Speicherplatz vorhanden ist um ein Backup zu erstellen. Rechner 500GB, davon knapp 8,2GB frei. Externe Festplatte (WDPassport) 4TB.
Kann ich nun, wenn ich ein Backup von meinem Rechner auf die externe Festplatte erstelle die Fotos auf meinem Rechner löschen, oder werden diese bei dem nächsten Backup von meiner externen Festplatte dann automatisch gelöscht, da sie ja nun nicht mehr auf meinem Rechner vorhanden sind?
Ich möchte nur nicht wertvolle Erinnerungen aus Versehen löschen.
Ich hoffe, es ist verständlich was ich damit meine. Vielen Dank schon mal an alle die sich auskennen.

iCloud focuses on synchronizing your data across Apple devices, and also provides automatic backups for iOS and iPadOS.

At the iCloud, I would have to pay monthly money. (50gb 0,99€, 200gb 2,99€, 2tb 9,99€) Then I can pay money for the 4TB external hard drive and also have plenty of space and do not depend on the other stuff.
Ok, but there are also free cloud storage: Google Drive: 15GB,
pCloud 10GB, ….
This is enough to try out, or even partially outsource.
You can still use your hard drive.
If you want to delete your photos on your computer, you need to secure your backup at least once again!
A backup that only exists once is not a backup!
Of course, you can delete the photos on MacBook when you copy them to the external panel.
But I wouldn’t use Time Machine, that’s not very reliable. A file manager like One Commander, Crax or muCommander is very helpful in such actions. It’s more complicated with the finder.
And from the external panel you should also backup regularly. This will secure your data for the emergency.
