External tibial bone type 2?

I'm writing as the desperate mother of a 12-year-old girl. She has a type 2 os tibiale externum (external tibial bone) in both feet. The doctors want to remove the bone on her left foot because it's a more severe flat foot. I'm afraid to do that to her, as she's not in that much pain yet. I can't find any experience with this online; I've scoured the internet. Can anyone help me? We're currently using insoles and spiral dynamics. The posterior tibial tendon will then be sewn back together or screwed to the scaphoid bone. Thank you very much.

Get a second opinion from a specialized specialist who has no financial interest in an operation.

Personally, I would never have an operation on joints or bones that have not yet grown. Especially since there are hardly or no complaints.

A kink foot or a slight bone misalignment is no catastrophe. You can live well with that.

The need for an operation ultimately depends on the impairment and symptoms that arise and whether a conservative treatment is possible or not. Notwithstanding that: A cosmetic deviation from the norm is not a reason for an operation.

If at the foot something is not as it should, it can affect the whole body. This is why something relatively inconspicuous as Hallux Valgus is also treated therapeutically.

In my opinion, yes, do it.

If you have doubts talk to the doctor. They have the idea (: if necessary you are looking for another opinion/confirmation

Please have surgery.
Yes, an operation will also be associated with pain this is unfortunately not to avoid.

But clear the little bad.
in case of non-treatment, severe pain-accompanying restrictions may occur later.
don’t do that to your child.

But I understand the concern as Papa 100%!
