External or internal HDD as data storage?

I've read a lot of times that many people use an external HDD as a data storage device, since it's only used for storage and is occasionally connected (e.g., for movies, etc.). I need a new drive because two are failing, and I want to back up the data from the others before they eventually fail, too.

Look here: C02/C02

This is an external with 4TB and with a very good price-performance ratio.

If you have a Fritzbox, you can connect it to the USB port and set it up as a Homecloud. Then you have the advantage that you can access from several devices.

I always take internal records and put them in a NAS. In addition, a reflection or similar redundancy to prevent a hard drive failure. This does not cost more than an external record, but if you take photos collected once for six years, etc., you’ll think if you do it right.

Sometimes there is no pre-warning time and things are broken.
