External hard drive is suddenly no longer recognized?

Good morning,

I had just copied photos onto my Toshiba hard drive, thrown them out, and removed them.

Then after a short time I found some photos, plugged in my hard drive (to the same port) and it is no longer recognized and the LED is constantly lit blue.

But it works on my father's laptop, it is recognized and the LED flashes.

What could be the reason for this?

Greetings Claasjahn 🤙🏻

If the problem after a restart has not yet been “adjusted”, I would remove all USB drivers with USBDeview, and let them be reinstalled by Windoof’s Plug&Play function.

Very good! That’s it.

No, because it just removes drivers and their entries.

When you drive it down and drive it up again, you have done practically what a reset (restart) does.
Ps.: After the drivers were removed with USBDeview, also restart to avoid driver conflicts.

If so, you can assign a drive letter via the disk management. If not your plugandplay service has passed…or something else… So device manager and go:-)

So it works on another PC. Maybe a volume that can identify Windows is missing?
