Well. They do what they want, so it’s not.
When the play is about shocking, ne external gpu can really push your laptop so high that you can play aa games without any problem. (if the rest of the laptop lasts).

But:
(1) You really need a Thunderbolt 4o.5 cable to use it.
Not every laptop has that.
Works under certain conditions. But most of the time you can leave it the same.

2) So it’s a little while I’ve been informed.
But usually external graphics cards are so expensive (with case and so,…) that it is just to lengths more profitable to sell the old laptop, and to buy nen desktop. (Or hold a laptop that has a good graphics card when you need one.)

My uncle, for example, build themselves in the company “Special Computer”. And he has 15 external graphics cards in there. And works perfectly in the sense.

Conclusion: Mainly about point two. I’ve had some bad experiences.
