Experiences with basic religion course?
I am currently vaguely considering choosing Catholic religion as a basic course in high school, and then also as a written subject for my Abitur exam.
What are/were your experiences with it? How difficult is it? What does it cover in terms of content? Do you also cover more abstract topics, or does it only deal with the Christian faith? So, is it also about general theological concepts, or is it really just about Christian content? Generally speaking, what was/is the basic religion course like?
I've also done the Abitur in religion. From the 12th grade we had treated all religious critics and philosophers, starting with the philosopher and anthropologist Ludwig Feuerbach, who was born in 19th. J. created a fundamental work with his religious critique "The Being of Christianity", which still exists today.
We also took Sartre. Nowadays, the writings of Hans King, who was the theology professor in Tübingen, belong to the teaching material, as well as the books Josef Ratzinger.
I find this area very interesting and can encourage you to choose religion in Abi!
What is it also "Catholic Religion" or anything else? So there are, for example, also separate still evangelical religion. I also don't know if there are other versions of Reli.
It was religion!
Thank you for your answer. I understand your point that religion generally has a common theme. But I am particularly concerned about whether your subject was officially called "Catholic Religion", "evangelical religion" or simply "religion" or otherwise.
Maybe I misunderstood your answer, and you mean it differently, but I understood that it's "religion", no matter what a specification is.
The exact name could, however, have an influence on what priorities were dealt with. If it really was called "religion", it would also be a helpful info for me, because it might not be exactly comparable to my possible course.
Honestly, I found it a bit bad that you reacted so sharply. I was just wondering normally because I really wanted to understand. It really wasn't my intention to get over.
Well, R eligin is R eligin and not mathematics, German or history! I think it should be clear. And no matter what color the respective religion is, whether Christian, Muslim or Jewish: it is R eligin!
Just “religion”? I'm just wondering, because I looked after and, at least after what I found, there's religion only so with the addition of "evangelical", "Catholic", "Islamic" religion or something like "religion teaching" . Maybe I found it wrong and I'm sorry if it comes out stupid. I just want to make sure it's really the same subject.
