You can’t do that through exif metadata. And if your friends tell you that they’ve done this, they’ll probably tell you fairy tales.

There were bugs in various libraries, where manipulated exif data could gain access to the system. That was all but trivial and currently no such bugs are known.

Exifdata is an optional part of jpg files. In these, recording parameters etc. can be stored by cameras or image processing programs.

The exif data in Jpeg images are simply passive data that cannot read IP, no matter what you would manipulate.

something is possible because I have the tools for it. Only I don’t have the date. I know friends who did it.

Total bullshit…

I’ve been programming for almost 40 years and there are 1000 ways to “hit” any stuff in media files. However, programs are also necessary for the addressee to extract such data.

So nix with manipulated image in any viewer open and hidden code sends you an answer…

Only these friends have no more.

…Yes…all clear when it comes to the evidence, any files have disappeared…. 😅🤭🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥

Exif dates are in almost every photo that is photographed with the cell phone or camera. Ergo there are files with exif data not rarity.

By the way, it would be nonsense to mishape the area reserved for exif data for data not belonging to the image. It is only necessary to determine the position of the EndOfStream marker (excode: 0xFFD9) and can then attach any data without affecting the image data.

…no witchcraft. You only have to have a suitable program/script on the target computer that can extract the Secret Annex.

But as already said, there is no way to automatically execute any code smuggled into a JPG file. (The same was possible under very special conditions under XP… https://www.f-secure.com/v-descs/exploit-w32-jpg-vulnerability.shtml . Such vulnerabilities have long been fixed)

Hello toniboy030506,

exif data sense metadata stored in a JPG file. With this alone, no IP addresses can be found.

I’m not going to tell you, because you can stay here quickly in Illegalem, so I could be in court for a criminal offence on the basis of the aid…

For example, it would not be Illegal if you had the permission of the people who belonged to the network.

I can’t check that. Sorry.
