Exercise for work- help?
I don't understand the task. Can someone please help me? (Grade 9)
In the individual biathlon, participants must complete a 15km cross-country ski run, shooting four times at five targets each. For each missed shot, a one-minute penalty is added to the race time. Based on experience, Anna has a 90% chance of hitting the target.
a) What is the probability that she misses at most one shot?
She shoots 20 times.
The probability of a hit is 0.9.
The probability of a failure is 0.1.
When does she have a maximum shot? If she has either 1 or 0 shots.
Is that enough for information?
I did the job now, can you please tell me if it’s right?
She doesn’t shoot four times, she shoots 20 times.
The probability can never be greater than 1.
Why do you expect 0.9*4? If you shoot four times in a row, then the chance to always shoot right is not 0.9 times 4 but 0.9 high 4.
