Hi, my engine is suddenly running very rough, when starting, while driving, and when stationary. I drive a Ford Mondeo Mk3 ST220, V6, 226hp, built in 2003 and with just under 270,000km on the clock.
-When accelerating it sounds like it is drawing air from somewhere and it also responds to the accelerator a little more slowly.
-When stationary, the engine speed is between 700-1200 and it jerks
-When driving you can hear a grinding or pulling of unwanted air, but you can't clearly define it.
-When braking, even with the clutch depressed, the engine turns off.
Before I started experiencing these "symptoms," the engine also took longer to start. The engine had already warmed up by the time I started it again.
