Expansion card for M.2 SSD?
Hello,
I wanted to ask if it makes sense to buy an expansion card for an additional M.2 SSD. They've become relatively cheap. I have the B550 F gaming motherboard and have a graphics card and two M.2 SSDs installed.

Hello, Subject: Changing the hard drive from HDD to SSD is not working, SSD is not recognized after insertion……….?!?!?!?!?!? I would like to use my new and already formatted SSD in my all-in-one PC (MEDION Akoya AIO3) and install Windows 10 directly via USB stick, but unfortunately it doesn't work at all, only a message…
I want to replace the SSD in my PC with a larger one. I'll clone the old hard drive and transfer the data to the new one. Can I simply replace the hard drive, or do I need to consider anything else? I'm using a CSL Hydrox T9018 PC.
Hello everyone, I work for a company as a graphic designer and photographer and work exclusively with Adobe programs. Since my computer quickly became overwhelmed with the large amounts of data, I saved all my image, InDesign, and Illustrator files on an external hard drive. This also allowed me to work flexibly from my home…
Hello, I want to reinstall my PC and ideally set it up so that one SSD only has Windows, while my other SSD has things like photos, videos, downloads, etc. So, everything should be on the second SSD, and only Windows on the first. Is this possible? If so, how?
Hello My hard drive is not displayed. When I click on files, all of them are gone. However, if I turn the PC off and on again several times, it works again. However, when I start it up, nothing is displayed. This happens for 1-2 weeks and then the problem disappears, but after 6-7 months…
Hello
You can use a third M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD on a corresponding “PCIe 3.0 x4 on M.2 PCIe SSD” Insert and use adapter card. For this, you need a PCIe 3.0 x4 on M.2 PCIe SSD adapter card that you can plug into the lower PCIe 3.0 x16 slot. Then another M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD can be used. It is also possible to use an M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD, which is braked on PCIe 3.0 x4 speed, i.e. to below 4000MB/s.
There is also “PCIe x16 on 4x M.2 PCIe x4 SSD” Adapter cards.
However, you cannot use this if you have used a graphics card in the upper PCIe x16 slot, because there must also be a “PCIe x16 on 4x M.2 PCIe SSD” Adapter card are used. The lower PCIe x16 slot is useless in this case, since it is connected to the B550 chip only with 4 PCIe 3.0 Lanes, so that it is actually a PCIe 3.0 x16@x4 slot, i.e. a PCIe x4 slot in a PCIe x16 slot.
A graphics card would therefore be properly braked in the lower PCIe x16 slot, so that it should be used in the top PCIe x16 slot.
And there is “PCIe x16 on 4x M.2 PCIe x4 SSD” Adapter card all 16 PCIe Lanes of a PCIe x16 slot required to be able to split it to 4 pieces M.2 PCIe x4 SSD’s, it must be plugged into a PCIe x16 slot that is also connected to all 16 PCIe Lanes. A PCIe x16 slot that is only connected to 4 PCIe Lanes does not use anything in this case. On a “PCIe x16 on 4x M.2 PCIe x4” Adapter card would work exactly one M.2 PCIe x4 SSD and the other three would not work if the adapter card is plugged into the lower PCIe 3.0 x16@x4 slot.
Therefore you can only use one more M.2 PCIe SSD on a “PCIe x4 on M.2 PCIe x4” Adapter card.
PCIe 3.0 x4 on 1x M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD adapter card
You can plug this into the lower PCIe 3.0 x16@x4 slot and then use a corresponding M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD.
Since the lower PCIe 3.0 x16@x4 slot has to share the PCIe Lanes with the three PCIe 3.0 x1 slots, the PCIe 3.0 x1 slots cannot be used if the lower PCIe 3.0 x16@x4 slot is occupied.

can you recommend a good adapter?
I added the link under the picture.
PCIe 3.0 x4 on 1x M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD adapter card
You can use this adapter card.
