What should you look out for when buying your first car?

Hello

I am out of my probationary period this year and I would like to get a car because I need it for private purposes.

I found a car near Gütersloh. The seller seemed nice, and my price range for the first car was no more than €1,000-2,000. My absolute pain threshold would be €2,500.

Do you have any recommendations for me? And what do you think of the car?

There appears to be no damage and it is fully roadworthy.

Just found it on #classifieds. What do you think?

the following first: The car has already driven 245,000 Km. That’s a lot for a gasoline that won’t get you too far (just 300,000 Km).

Besides, the car has no more TÜV. You have to first test whether the car can get TÜV at all, but more. In any case, you should know that the TÜV will cost again, depending on how much to do. I think even if everything should be right, you are at Good 150€.

You test the following:

• Warm?

When you arrive and the car is warm, that’s suspicious. A warm car is more inconspicuous about its engine problems, etc.

• Tire profile depth

The car is damned much driven and if he didn’t change the tires again and again, it might be dangerous to drive with it

• Oil leak

You open the bonnet and see if there’s oil somewhere, that’s not allowed.

• Clean?

When everything is clean under the bonnet, he made a motor wash. It’s suspicious.

• Dentists and scratches

But the more, the lower the price

• Testing

Is the car really with his ~100ps? If not, maybe a cylinder is broken and that would be very bad.

These are now a few tips on the quick, I personally would not take the car for the price

Maybe you should look at a used car dealer. They have as good as always TÜV and also you have more rights regarding the car (for a private purchase, bought as seen, the car can theoretically explode directly afterwards and it is your own liability).

Well, the rating doesn’t exactly speak for the seller. With the 246 Km running performance, I’m going out from 246,000. In principle, I wouldn’t buy a gasoline with over 200,000 km, even if the money’s tight. I’d rather look for a smaller car with less power.

Put the double on your budget, then you’ll find something reasonably reasonable.

at $1,000-1,500, you can only find scrap.

well, the car has to fit, the BMW you get for the money will be scrap but a Opel could be good.

see if you get a Corsa D if you definitely don’t get a good Corsa C best as 1.2 or 1.4
