First car: Peugeot 207 Cc, Mazda mx5 nb, Opel Tigra Twintop experiences?
Hello,
I've been driving accompanied for four months, and since I'll be turning 18 soon, I'd like to buy a car in the €3,000-€4,000 range. As mentioned above, I really like the Peugeot 207cc, Mazda MX5, and Opel Tigra Twintop, and I'd like some help in making a decision, some tips, and some opinions.
Thanks in advance!
MX-5!
For 4000€, you should be joined. Look after the care, best checkbook. Look especially for rust, SPECIAL on the side sills. If you see it from the outside, it is most likely complete inside. The NB is worse than the predecessor (which is more cultivated, I would take a NA). Also pay attention to the outflow from the top (which may have to be replaced if it is still original).
Otherwise, it’s a cheap way to drive a squirting car. Moderate consumption, cheap insurance. Spare parts are available and you can do most yourself. Little is broken, top motor and the circuit is a dream.
The best are cars that were never moved in winter. If this is not possible, take copies that were standing out permanently in winter – garage cars smelled more than outside cars, due to the high humidity in the garage compared to outside. The constant temperature change is not good either.
Thank you. The Mx5 is referred to by many as a not suitable novice car, what do you say? And can you drive the Mx5 in winter?
Most will recommend you a golf or corsa or something because they just have no idea. In addition, there is the “dangerous” three-digit PS number (apart from the second NA generation). And because it is a “fun car” that is definitely sporty.
Admittedly, an MX-5 IST flotts, even with its moderate performance, due to the super low weight, but nothing you could not easily manage… Where we are at the handling of the MX-5, which is very good. So you shouldn’t have any problems with it as a beginner.
You can drive it in winter (also make many), but then rather with rust care and regular cleaning of the stray salt. I’d rather not do it, but I wouldn’t be dependent on a car either. It’s more like the ” fun on the road” car than the shopping user. If you value functionality and city suitability, I would recommend you to a closed small/compact car (mostly Japanese).
a good mazda in the price range at the beginning of the summer you will hardly find. The MX5 NA/NB are rather very rusty unfortunately, and then comes to what the previous owners have driven. I know the Peugeot from a colleague, nice car with good care also quite reliable. The Tigra is also rather rusty and also otherwise I don’t know a few who sneak on this box.
These are all fun cars you’ve chosen, while the motorizations are generally quite harmless, but the vehicles themselves are already moving for heating and having fun, and as a beginner I don’t know if this is such a good idea. Just the Mazda can become quite biestig if you bring him a tick across the border. A lot of 1-2 years to get to know your limits and then such a FunCar would be my honest recommendation.
so from the pure reason side I would fluctuate between the tigra and the twingo. where the tigra still brings a little more mass and crumb zone, which would explain it to me under the candidates for the first car.
I personally would like the pug better, but red sand is right. he’s just a little wilder, and I’m relatively sure he’s in the scavenging, if more expensive than the tigra, NOT because women’s car!

Choose the Mazda MX5. You’ll be sure reliable and be more economical on the go.
207 and Tigra are bad, better a MX5.
Hello!
The Peugeot is unreliable & will not give you any pleasure in the long term … precisely the “2 series” and especially 206 and 207 are not recommended used cars and yet, thanks to the strong predominantly female fan community, is relatively expensive. I’d betray you!
The Mazda is considered reliable, but for 4,000 euros it is rare & then also the elder of your choice. I would not recommend, even if the roadster is a classic —-> the expensive spare parts sometimes provide for bad surprises when something breaks.
On the other hand, the Opel is robust, reliable, affordable in maintenance & as a whole the best choice. A Tigra of approx. 2007 runs in my environment and has not so far been caused by unreliability or trouble, but for this, due to low operating costs & positive functionality 🙂
Hope you can help!
