First project finished and now what?
Hello everyone^^ I am 20 years old (soon to be 21) and I have a question for you, maybe you can help me
I recently finished my first photography project (a photo album), which I'm incredibly proud of. My family was the first to see the photos and was literally speechless.
They strongly advised me to send the pictures because, according to them, they are extremely good
I have been doing some more research over the last few days, but I am not sure where exactly I could send the pictures (whether for viewing, exhibition or competition).
But it would be a very big wish that this hobby could become more
Maybe the question is totally unnecessary and I'm thinking it's all too complicated, but it just seems strange to me to just contact a photographer and ask.
I am happy about every answer ^^ Many thanks to everyone
I will attach some pictures of myself and maybe I should also mention that I am not a trained photographer and took them with my mobile phone
I’ll join Uneternal if you have fun trying with a camera with interchangeable lenses.
Can also remachine, Polarr is partly free, the Lightroom Mobile version also.
Thanks for the tip I will definitely try^^
Family and friends tend to overvalue something, they are usually also people who don’t really have much idea of matter. That’s why every year, under-average and even really bad singers come to DSDS.
Your photos are better than the average or what else you get here on GF sometimes, but still a good bit far away from priced photos. I’m sorry if I give you a bite, but I’m sure you won’t win a contest.
Take a look at the winners of 2021 Cewe photo competition, and then consider whether your photos come up with quality and creativity.

However, you can see that you have talent and I would ask your parents if they don’t want to give you a proper camera for Christmas. Good used mirror reflex cameras like the Canon EOS 70D or 750D are available for 250-350€.
Wow, thanks for the link, there are great photos.
Thank you
Yes except the beach photo, I find it totally unspectacular. He probably just wrote a long story about it.
In fact, the beach was neither my taste nor wow. The lighthouse that did it to me, that motive had something.
You can see that you’ve been busy with the hobby and probably also have a good camera.
That’s my hobby, too. But I’m realistic to make a job out of it might be harder or a broodless art. Rent a studio/shop and pass photos, from time to time a wedding?
Put images into the web on a platform selling license rights .. try millions.
Natural journalism: would I like to make, but first of all find a sponsor for the expedition… and then deliver something that not 1000 tourists who are also traveling with professional cameras on Safari, and then still get the title story at national geografic with 20 photo pages.
One problem is: cameras are too good, too cheap and too easy to use. In the past, the local newspapers had their own photographers so that they were sure that the films were also exposed to richness, the pictures were sharp… that was all complicated, real expertise. Today you can see if what has become, even a mobile phone photo is enough for the small black and white photo in the weekly leaf.
Also a thank you
In itself, the project took about 11⁄2 years.
Working with matter, I have a lot of work and I already have an education as a media designer where photography was briefly treated but not very intensively
This is why learning by doing
By the way, all the pictures were taken with my phone as I couldn’t get a camera yet
Thanks for your comment see if the hobby can be further developed and even if not I will always have my pleasure as a hobby
I don’t want to judge your photos, someone else did. I also want to warn you against taking friends and acquaintances as a benchmark, so tempting that is.
Ask yourself: would you really judge a picture of a friend negatively? Hardly. If you really want to improve and develop, you need to go to someone who has no personal relationship with you.
Precisely constructive criticism is necessary to recognize and change your own mistakes. Of course you need to find your own style.
I think you can create your own group
A group for what?
