What is the result of such a commitment by the landlord?

And how could the landlord implement such a duty? Most private landlords have a single apartment on offer. There is no spare room.

The tenant must search himself. However, he may assert his expenses with the landlord or his building insurance.

He doesn’t have to make this available. After all, the hotel doesn’t belong to him. The tenant has to rent it himself and he is really well advised VORHER with landlord and his building insurance to explain what is taken over at costs.

If it is unreasonable to live in the apartment during the renovation, the landlord must provide for spare living space.

A fully furnished apartment will hardly want to afford a landlord.

I would also like to tap a holiday apartment or a hotel. But of course this depends on how extensive the renovations are.

The ball is in your case and how you describe it quite clearly with the landlord.

The following possibilities would arise for you theoretically as far as the apartment would be classified as “inhabitable”.

1. You stay there and cut the rent by 100%

2.) You are looking for an alternative, but it must be related. This can be an aging apartment, or also a simple accommodation option in e.g. a pension, a foreign room, a simple hotel etc. The landlord must then bear the costs.

However, you do not have a claim that the landlord gives you something “search” or mediates. Here you need to be active yourself.

Please note in points 1 and 2 that these are to be understood as “either/or”. That is, 100% rent reduction and a replacement apartment will not finance you, but only one of them.
