Replacement apartment during renovation after major water damage?
Renovation after water damage, does the landlord have to provide me with a replacement apartment?

if the one to the residential building is on a piece of lawn near a tree.
When renting a property, repairs cannot be passed on to the tenant. If a solar thermal system was caused by a blockage in the circuit, and no significant parts were replaced, is this still a repair whose costs are borne solely by the landlord? The tenant is the sole beneficiary of the solar thermal system.
Good morning, Somewhere in the house someone is drilling (I guess it's the apartment below me) and suddenly my internet went out, just like my cable TV. My question now: Is it possible to essentially turn off the cable before starting any construction work? I just wanted to rule that out before I run down…
Hi A parcel delivery driver just damaged the glass pane of our front door (in an apartment building). My girlfriend and I saw it and spoke to him. He wrote down the phone number for the property management and promised to sort everything out. Unfortunately, the property management won't be available until tomorrow. I assume…
Good evening everyone, I have a question: How can I stop hearing my upstairs neighbor? I live in an apartment building with four other tenants. I live on the ground floor, and he lives above me in a maisonette. His living room is directly above my living room, and he has an iron staircase that…
Good morning I've finally had an apartment again since August. At first, everything was relatively normal, except for the fact that she told me there were rent nomads living in the attic. I didn't really think anything of it at the time, and since I've lived here (four months now), I haven't seen or heard…
What is the result of such a commitment by the landlord?
And how could the landlord implement such a duty? Most private landlords have a single apartment on offer. There is no spare room.
The tenant must search himself. However, he may assert his expenses with the landlord or his building insurance.
But there are no APARTMENTS IN BERLIN…MUSS ER MIR DANN A HOTELZIMMER TO CONTROL?
He doesn’t have to make this available. After all, the hotel doesn’t belong to him. The tenant has to rent it himself and he is really well advised VORHER with landlord and his building insurance to explain what is taken over at costs.
The landlord himself is SCHULD at the water damage!!!
Let yourself be represented by the tenant club. They know best what to do.
If it is unreasonable to live in the apartment during the renovation, the landlord must provide for spare living space.
Okay, thanks, but if he doesn’t have a replacement apartment?
A fully furnished apartment will hardly want to afford a landlord.
I would also like to tap a holiday apartment or a hotel. But of course this depends on how extensive the renovations are.
Fewo, Pension, Caravan on campsite, Hotel
Okay, thanks.
Yeah, no, maybe.
Depends on the “polluter question” and the scope.
You can’t answer that with your only question with yes or no.
I live in this apartment for 5 years, SOUTERRAIN APARTMENT!! Every year in the souterrain a water damage from the finest, my furniture is all rotten and devastated, 2 years ago the last water damage, until today the souterrain has not been refurbished. And if it should be refurbished, all the furniture has to go out, but where with the furniture. No place in my little apartment.
How/Where does the water come into your apartment?
Thank you.
The ball is in your case and how you describe it quite clearly with the landlord.
The following possibilities would arise for you theoretically as far as the apartment would be classified as “inhabitable”.
1. You stay there and cut the rent by 100%
2.) You are looking for an alternative, but it must be related. This can be an aging apartment, or also a simple accommodation option in e.g. a pension, a foreign room, a simple hotel etc. The landlord must then bear the costs.
However, you do not have a claim that the landlord gives you something “search” or mediates. Here you need to be active yourself.
Please note in points 1 and 2 that these are to be understood as “either/or”. That is, 100% rent reduction and a replacement apartment will not finance you, but only one of them.
Through any pipe breaks, it is a 5 family house, Fathers are 3 apartments with souterrain, and each apartment has constantly pipe breaks somewhere, the water is distributed into all 3 apartments. We’ve been compromised to make a strand remediation, but puste cake. They have now shut down the old raw lines, and have moved new pipelines to the outside, looks really great, but no matter, now only the pipes have to be lined and the souterrain has to be renovated. Meanwhile, we can’t live here…
