These are swabs to replace the tupfers you got in your mouth. They’re lying on the wounds and you should bite for a while until the bleeding stops.

Only if after-bleeding still occurs, you put the new tupfer (with clean hands) on the wound and bite it properly for a while.

That’s important for the wounds to close quickly.

And that’s what you’ve said in practice…

These swabs are meant for bleeding one of the wounds that you bite hard on the swab for about half an hour, so that the bleeding is stilled. Then spit out the tupfer. Do not wash the mouth wild, do not smoke and no coffee, no cola and no energy drinks – at least on the day of the surgery.
