Of course, an ergometer can be applied to its power limits.

However, one should know the difference between home trainer and ergometer:

  • Home trainers indicate any imaginary steps in terms of load, resulting in different home trainers not being comparable to one another
  • Ergometers show the pedal power in Watt, which also makes different ergometers comparable to one another

Anyone who wants to test can do this by means of a so-called step test.

There are different step test protocols.

The so-called WHO level test is relevant for non-performance athletes.

In the case of a pedal power starting with 100 W and a pedal time of 2 minutes per step, the power is increased by 25 W every 2 minutes until the athlete can no longer provide the performance and must stop.

Supplement:

There is a so-called Assault-Air-Bike, in which, in addition to pedaling with the arms 2, levers are moved alternately to the front and rear.

This allows you to complete a sophisticated full-body training

Hello, Jahe!

You can, absolutely. Don’t put the device in the basement in front of a naked wall, get boring and your ergometer trains alone.

Optimum: Listen to music – even better TV before.

I wish you good luck and success
