Experiences studying medicine at the University of Heidelberg / Mannheim?
Hello everyone,
Is anyone studying at the Mannheim/Heidelberg medical faculty – perhaps even human medicine – or does anyone have other experience with it and can help me?
The faculty itself is in Mannheim, but do you still have to commute to Heidelberg for any courses, or does everything really take place in Mannheim? I've only found conflicting reviews online.
How do you generally like studying there? What are some disadvantages that aren't present at other locations? What do you think of the model study program in Mannheim?
I would really appreciate some help and answers 🙂 Thank you very much in advance
The whole is located in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region. This is the smallest metropolitan region in Germany, but one of the most attractive. There are three federal states: Baden-Württemberg, Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate. Here is a map:
It is also difficult to find an apartment in Mannheim and Heidelberg. For students. I’d rather move around. For example, in the municipality of Edingen. It is located between Heidelberg and Mannheim. Both cities are just as far away. The ÖPNV is excellent. There is an overland tram that drives the following tour in both directions:
On weekends and public holidays, it travels throughout without closing. This makes it easy to move even in night life without a car.
Students in Baden-Württemberg receive the semester ticket as a German ticket for 365 euros per year.
